Surely some Christians will make the committment to watch and respond honestly as Christians.

I know this next part will be equally as shocking, some Christians do not like him either, not just the devil worshippers. We *get* that you think O'Reilly is the second coming. We *get* that you are completely in love with him. Honestly, we really do get it. Do we really need a second thread about him? Maybe you and he could just go out on a date and leave us out of the whole thing.

You are truly one of the most unusual posters we've had come along in quite a while. "I do not love Bill so stop lying. You are lying. Just read the post. You are lying. GET IT?" Oh for heaven's sake. Where in the world are you getting this stuff???? "I guess you two don't want to protect the children and just want to obfuscate." I'll echo what gadzuux said. Have you not noticed in my very recent postings what I said I do for a living?

Does this have anything to do with the Patriot Act? Maybe a roving pack of Mensa members driven by the need to champion O'Reilly's Talking Points?
Originally Posted By JeffG As I posted in the other thread, I don't consider O'Reilly to be a reliable or particularly interesting source of information. My lack of interest shifted more towards lack of respect when he recently was largely the instigator of the nonsensical "controversy" over people saying "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". I'm not going to get into the game of trying to come up with specific examples of inaccuracies or lack of balance in his show. Like most similar pundits, O'Reilly is obviously going to be careful to cover himself by avoiding clear-cut inaccuracies and by occasionally allowing contrary points of view to be mentioned. I'm sure any examples that I might cite would quickly be countered by his fans with some isolated counter-examples. It really is nothing more than a further distraction from the actual issues and, ultimately, it just helps to give him the publicity that he craves. My issue with commentators like O'Reilly is that they tend to continuously hammer home the facts that specifically support his viewpoint while minimizing those that don't. He might give one or two quick mentions to facts that don't support the point he is trying to make, but they will be drowned out by loud repetition of his two or three focal points. If O'Reilly's format works well for you, then, by all means, keep watching it. I don't feel that I get anything of value from him and would rather spend my time and effort obtaining information from sources that I consider to be more reliable and worthwhile. -Jeff

Sorry, Joe, I'm going to spend my evening with my family and watching shows I enjoy. I've watched O'Reilly in the past, and I just don't watch that kind of TV show. I don't find them informative or entertaining, since I really don't care what any of the talking heads think.

Well maybe anderson cooper, but that's it.

And if he feel that strongly about it, I'm glad he is. It a part of the fabric of Americanism, speaking out loudly about those thing we deem loathsome. I, too, have my gripes with the sentence. Hopefully, something will be done.
