    Yes, Texas did execute an innocent person---so what's new? Texas has perfected this over the years as well as its neighbor Oaklahoma. Wrongful executions stem from unethical DA's, ignorant and death qualified jurors, spineless judges, incompetent defense lawyers, and/or a political climate featuring laws which speed up executions by limiting appeals.

    Texas has developed a culture of blood-lust and vengence around the death penalty - it's a cause for celebration with them. Even if this story turns out to be accurate, I do not expect any kind of rational response from the people of the "great" state of texas. Life comes pretty cheap there.
