Lemuel and Julia Redd have been charged with second-degree felony kidnapping. Utah County Attorney Kay Bryson said Tuesday he met with the couple's daughter, Julianna, and her now-husband Perry Myers before charging the parents. ''I've never had a case quite like this,'' Bryson said. The loving mother and father could face 15 years in prison if they're convicted.

Having said all that....My husband was "giving" my sister away at her first wedding and he said he felt the urge to ask the driver of the limo to just keep driving past the church and not come back as he knew she was making a dreadful mistake! He kept quiet, she did marry and it was a nightmare marriage that almost destroyed the family! So I understand emotions play a big part but we have to have law and order in this world and they did break the law, even if it was with the best intentions!

From Aug to May, it is 9 months. It could be a honeymoon baby. I don't think the event should be considered a kidnapping. So what if she missed the wedding. She was still married eventually. She may be an adult, but she is considered a dependent child in terms of being a student at Brigham Young University with eligibility for student aid and her parent's assistance.

In humans, pregnancy averages 266 days (38 weeks) from conception to childbirth. Traditionally, pregnancy duration is counted from the woman's last menstrual period, which adds roughly 2 weeks to gestational age.
