I got to see Mrs. King on Oprah one day; yes, Oprah did give her a makeover from that famous hairstyle we've seen for all these years. She looked beautiful and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience. What a graceful lady.

There has been a lot of controversy between the children about the King Center and the Center is badly in need of repairs due to neglect. Also, in the news here in Atlanta some time ago, it was reported how Martin Luther King III drew a large 6 figure salary and was never at the Center and very difficult to find some days, thus draining the Center of money. http://www.blacknews.com/pr/ml k101.html

I would equate that to the Pope taking the jury out to lunch. The trial was thrown out and King was told to stay away from the courtroom. But no charges were brought up for jury tampering. Her latest crusade was to allow convicted felons to vote. Something I absolutely think is crazy. You don't let the fox run the hen house. I also didn't appreciate the fact that she always seemed to get anomous gifts. Like the 1. something million dollar condo next to Elton John's place in Buckhead. No one was allowed to "address" Koretta.. you had to speak to her through one of her staff. Even if she was standing right in front of you. Koretta was on the Board of Directors of Delta Airlines, and there was that time she Delta diverted a flight she was on. The flight was suppose to go direct to Atlanta but Koretta wanted to get off at Ashville, NC so the flight was diverted to let her get off. She was certainly a Queen.
