9/11 was a horrible experience, but this shows that terrorism comes from many areas and can impact anywhere. I wondered if Fox news is giving this any coverage?

Someone like Timothy McVeigh or Eric Rudolph or even the morons who shoot abortion doctors would be more relevant.

Seriously. It's like William's perpetually pissed off when he posts here these days. I'm glad the perspective's here, but how about toning it down a bit?

So the title "Christian Terrorist Attack in 24 hours is not hyperbole?

So no, it is not only within one country.

Also, it was an attempt to demonstrate that terrorism is nothing new. And it is not just a muslim thing. 9/11 was atrocious, and what made it so much so was the scale. But it comes back to the assertion I made many years ago on these boards,a war on terrorism cannot be won by force.

The horrid stories I am hearing about friends that are treated like criminals when they try to take their families to WDW or California. The stupid security checks at Disney parks that make little to no difference. It is just so frustrating.

This was an attempt to get people to look and open their eyes and think objectively about terrorism and how we handle ourselves. And also a test to actually check whether the partisan American media was covering this stuff, or if there was any interest on LP for discussing it.

Bullcrap, I was slammed by 90% of the posters here because I merely mentioned that the Fort Hood shooter being Muslim might be a big deal... I never even said there was a connection, just said it was something to keep an eye on and every single poster on this board slammed me...

Yet people are given free passes for making a derogatory post saying Christians will unleash a terrorist attack within 24 hours...

The double standards on this board are total and complete bullcrap and I will not take it any longer...

You are going to have to do better than that with your title.

I read the article 2 times.

Where did it say that the would be bombers were motivated by Christianity? It loosely talked about an IRA connection but never made a full blown factual tie.

Furthermore, If it were the work of IRA what does that have to do with terrorism motivated by Christianity? Just because a very large % of members are Catholic doesn't mean the Catholic church endorses their behavior. IRA, at it core motivation, seeks political recognition and in their warped minds a redress for years of English(who happened to be more protestant) oppression and neglect(as in the potato famine).

    Here was my response then:

    >>And lay-off William. He makes a fair point that Muslim extremists may want to infiltrate our military to do something like this to demoralize us. He's not saying that's what happened, just that it's a possibility.<<

    I'm just sayin'....

William, this is BS. I am trying to maintain a warped sense of balance. It is ok to womp on Muslims, or Mormans on here (even though I sometimes agree), and yet the minute one decries mainstream christianity, it is an offense on this board. And spirit forbid you might be a vocal agnostic or athiest. Yet in community we always have god bless this, or you are in my prayers etc.

It's not the thread that ticks me off, it's the obvious misrepresntation of the title of the thread...

Let's put this in perspective... When the Fort Hood shootings occured, I posted a thread entitled " Soldiers shot at Ft Hood" or something similiar... If I had put "Muslim Terrorist attack on Fort hood", I would have been slammed until there was no tomorrow.... and I would have deserved it...

The fact that you chose to use the title you did, shows me you were looking for a reaction more than any type of discussion...
