**"I know the pundits, and I know what they say: The math doesn't work out," Huckabee said Saturday morning at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. "Well, I didn't major in math, I majored in miracles. And I still believe in those, too."**

"majored in miracles"? What the heck does THAT mean?

This guy is somehow "God's candidate" or something?

    Yikes!

I will be extremely nervous if he gets the VP nod, for real...and I will pray (yes, PRAY...any port in a storm lol!) for McCain's health every day of the presidency if those two take the office!

IMO, the Governor of FL will get the VP Nod and Huckabee will go back to Arkansas to preach God to whomever he wants...

Who's the governor of FL, what's he all about?

Other miracles might be: survival of a fatal illness, escaping a life threatening situation or 'beating the odds'."

So while I am the last person who wants to see him on the Republican ticket, simply because Huckabee used the word "miracle" is not necessarily a reason to jump out and rip religion again, especially when he was talking about math just before he used the word, hence the connection to statistical improbabilities.

There is no chance he will be on the ticket with McCain. McCain tryingto distance himself and the party from the far right - if he wanted to panderfor votes, he'd just change a few positions like Romney did ( how'd that work out ? )

Mc Cain is who he is and a moderate will join him on the ticket.

I know that will bother some who had figured the GOP had zero chance in November. Well if all the far right stays home and enough moderate GOP voters who maybe have sat on the sidelines the last few years don't get off their backsides and vote - then it won't be much of a race. But if that does happen, and the Obama - Clinton race goes down to the wire and continues to get nasty - who knows.

A McCain presidency would not be a continuation of the last 8 years, regardless of what some radio gasbags might have one believe.

Huckabee is far enough right that he demonizes gays to gain support. That's pretty "Pat Robertson" right, I think.

Miracles, schmiracles. Whatever. I don't care about his stupid statement about math and miracles. I care about the fact that his religious beliefs would cause him to attempt to deny civil rights to gay people.

Since McCain is considered a "liberal" I could see a "conservative" veep on the ticket. That could be either Huckabee or Romney. Each comes with his own matching set of baggage.

Huckabee's a maybe, but doesn't really get McCain any states he wouldn't get anyway (if he needs help winning the non-Florida south, he's in trouble).

My guess at this point would be Gov. Charlie Crist of Fla. That's a vital state for the GOP to hold, Crist is popular in Fla., and he waited a long time before endorsing McCain... almost as though he might have been promised something in return...
