An Associated Press-GfK poll released Wednesday showed Obama surging to a seven-point lead, 48-41, over McCain one month before the presidential election. Three weeks ago, McCain had a slight edge over Obama in the AP-GfK survey. Other surveys also showed Obama ahead of McCain nationally and beating him in several swing states, including Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Iowa. "Look, we're doing fine," McCain told Fox News. "We were up in the polls, and then we were down in the polls, and we were up in the polls, and down in the polls ... you know, we can't worry about the day-to-day tick-tock." McCain added: "I think we're doing fine. We've got a lot of work to do. I always love being the underdog, and I think we're going to be up late on election night. But I'm very happy with where we are."

And I would like to belive those polls, I really would. I actually get excited when I hear the news and see Obama leading in practically every major poll, but I'm very afraid that it could change OR those polls wont translate into actual votes. THATS what counts in the end. But yeah, Im not counting McCain out yet. I still remember a year ago the guy was counted out, no more money, campaign in chaos and now hes the nominee . I'm hoping people she Palin for what she really is--an unqualified, manipulative selection, nothing more, but people see what they want usually. So who knows at this point, but I have a feeling if she doesnt do very well in the debate, it WILL be a tough climb for McCain from this point on.

Likewise the remaining 5% in the McCain/Palin camp won't admit it if she flops harder than Speed Racer.

With the McCain/Obama debate nearly everyone here said it was a tie, that McCain did well, better than some of us personnally expected, but yes, most said Obama sort of 'won' it because it was expected from the media perspective and pundits McCain was going to be much stronger on this debate and for the fact that Obama stayed with him made it a win for him in a way, but certainly not a big one. And sure, IF Palin can hold her own, I will say so.....but she wont win ;D. (okay, maybe you have a point lol)

Of course, we have no basis for comparison really since she's been an unmitigated disaster (just way too easy), but I'll be the first to say that she was very successful with her convention speech. I didn't like it, personally, but it was nonetheless highly successful. If she actually knocks one out of the park, I'll certainly cop to it. I'll also be very surprised, however.
