And this is another example of why the people who rip on gays for trying to force society to accept their demand for equal rights are dead wrong, and dangerously so. If nobody fights against it, the consequences are unthinkable, as in this case (not as long ago as we might imagine)... And if you want further proof, remember that the Supreme Court has argued this issue recently; I direct you to June 23, 2003... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0...,00.html "Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas dissented. "The court has largely signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda," Scalia wrote for the three. He took the unusual step of reading his dissent from the bench. "The court has taken sides in the culture war," Scalia said, adding that he has "nothing against homosexuals."" "The justices struck down a Texas Supreme Court (search) ruling that banned "deviate sexual intercourse with another individual of the same sex." The case was brought by two men who were caught by police engaging in an illegal sex act at home. The law "demeans the lives of homosexual persons," Justice Anthony M. Kennedy (search) wrote for the 6-3 majority, adding that the men "are entitled to respect for their private lives." " Sad that we actually have arguments against at this point, but there will always be prejudiced and bigoted people like Scalia in this world...hopefully out of power in the not to near future though.

Originally Posted By Mr X ***It wasn't that long ago that disabled folks were sterolised*** It's ongoing, Dave, sad to say. I won't bother with the link, cause there's far too much vitriol where I read it, but on the subject of an intersexed person (one born with both sexes in some fashion) a poster actually wrote something like "how disgusting! that person should stay in their home, close the shades, and never come outside! I would be ashamed of myself if I were born that way!". Believe it or not, it's a true story (I suppose some might accuse me of lying since I didn't provide the link...so if you really want to see the inhumanity you can go ahead and search through Free Republic and you'll find that and lots more like it).

How pathetic!

Originally Posted By barboy ///Was Steve Martin a black man in The Jerk?/// Well no, absolutely not. He was a white man raised in a black family. If I adopt a girl from China she doesn't suddenly become "white"; she would retain her gentically 'Asian' disposition irrespective of her new environment.

If fact, then "she" is actually a he wether Caster lived as a female or not and should have to forfeit the accolade. But if Caster's gender is mixed then I have no fair solution to the issue of athletic competition.
