Dick Cheney's catching some flak for saying Obama is pretending the U.S. isn't at war. Curious considering how he just authorized a whole mess of troops for Afghanistan.

What fantasyworld do these people live in? It's astounding.

My favorite line so far: Being lectured about terrorism by Cheney is like being lectured about fidelity by Tiger Woods.

I imagine Obama had a rather huge "oh sh-t" moment a time or two or three when he was told what was really happening in the world. Cheney already knows all this, and obviously has his theories on how it should all be dealt with. Cryptically, and not so cryptically, every now and then Cheney throws in a dig.

Then, 3 months after invading Iraq, they declared the war over. Remember "Mission Accomplished?" They enjoyed the photo op on the aircraft carrier deck, but never bothered to watch the caskets come home at Dover or console the families in Arlington's Section 60. Despite being on a "war footing," Cheney didn't have any qualms about disclosing the identity of a CIA operative and risking our national security to score political points. He didn't mind watching his former company, Halliburton, reap billions in war profits while Iraq and Afghanistan degenerated into quagmires. I could go on, but I think the point is made. Dick Cheney is an enormous hypocrite and should be prosecuted as a war criminal before he is ever given any credibility in the press.

I'd say option 1 is better than the rest.

Of course it does, because it sounds much easier - and the American people bought it hook, line and sinker. Everyone was scared and looking to the government to protect them, so "We the people" allowed Bush and Cheney to take away some of our freedoms, and start two wars, all so we could continue shopping and going to Disney World in comfort.

And the scary part is that we probably all would have continued to not care, and stayed fat, dumb and happy if the whole mess didn't come crashing down around his ears. If it hadn't, we might currently be watching President McCain starting WWIII with Iran while we kept happily riding "it's a small world", and blissfully ignoring the message of the ride...

Well, I've probably been to WDW and Disneyland over 100 times, and I still like to ride it almost everytime I visit. I know - weird, right?! For some reason, it's always been one of my favorite rides. I guess I'm just easily entertained by pretty colors and signing! ;-)

Sorry to hijack the thread about the joys Disney World brings. Let's get back to talking about Dick Cheney.

I think Cheney should take a tip from Bush and just stop giving these interviews. Usually, previous presidents and vice presidents don't talk about their successor to the media while they're in office, right? Why is he not giving Obama that courtesy?
