However, the clip I'm fixin' to link to so PERFECTLY expresses my feelings about this election, and 2012 conservatism in general, that I want everybody to watch it. EVERYBODY. Especially Romney's supporters. All 16 minutes of it. It may be one of the most intelligent 16 minutes ever broadcast, and the point she makes is SO important to the future of this country. If you can't spare that much time, at least read the quote in the accompanying article, which is from late in the clip. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...290.html

Smart as a whip, for starters. Sometimes gets caught up in minutia but usually focuses on things that matter. (I was impressed that her first book wasn't a quickie serving of red meat to her fans, but a scholarly and important look at military policy and how easy it has become to go to war. If you haven't read "Drift," you should). Also, she's always respectful to her guests and never talks over them either. Now granted, it's the rare conservative who dares go on her show and get rhetorically de-pants by her (politely but firmly), but they're always being invited and if she does get one, she's invariable respectful, unlike what O'Reilly or Hannity et al do to their guests (and someone like Olbermann too, to be fair). Yes, she can sometimes cross the line from smart to smartass, but a). not always, and b). sometimes her targets deserve it, like the people profiled in this piece.

I've just had a pretty intense experience with someone close to me today, someone I've known since childhood. It's hard for me not to respond to this person. Very, very hard. But so far, I've held. If there is one person out there who I would break down my rule for it is this person. Lifelong friend. East Coast in fact. It's been 24 hours and I'm still holding strong. this person read the original piece I wrote. The email response from this individual sits in my in-box. I almost responded twice today. Even started writing the reply. But I pulled back. I am truly hoping that this person sends me an email with the following message in the Subject line: I have left the Democrat Party and will never vote Democrat again. <> I hope the guy receives an email back with the following subject line: "I have reassessed our friendship and will never associate with a hateful arse-wipe psychotic like you again."

Now I consider all of the "talking heads" from Beck to O Reily to Maddow to be idiots, but she is in a league of her own.

It is 99% accurate. And when it's not, she apologizes and makes a retraction as soon as the correct info is known. I've heard many conservatives complain about Rachel's attitude. I can't help but wonder if it's because she's not a dude. For some reason, most of the conservative men in this nation can't stand progressive, intelligent, well educated women. They can make all kinds of excuses for the snarky gorgeous women on Fox News, but they hate Dr. Maddow. Hmm... maybe it's because she's also a lesbian? Could be. But I don't agree with your observation at all.

I'm exhausted by the likes of Karl Rove, Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Michelle Bachmann along with the dimwits who believe the BS they spew through conservative media channels. I'd say Rachel Maddow's snark is pretty nice considering how truly despicable these people are.
