But, different from the L.A. Police/King trial, in which this being compared due to some similarities like jury make-up, this cop was at least found guilty, instead of not-guilty on all counts.

I'm glad people are peacefully protesting --- I do think our ability in this country to protest something we don't agree with, peacefully, is a great liberty.

    My Dad lives in Florida and he was visiting me when this story first broke and I was surprised he didn't know about it. Apparently it didn't have enough juice to make the national news, though it certainly dominated the local headlines. The fact there is video of the shooting makes it all the more powerful, which is why I am surprised it never broke nationally.

    Thanks! I was nervous about him getting home. The area where he works is not the safest --- people from his company have been mugged in broad daylight. Some people wanted to cancel work today, but of course that wasn't an option.

    Sounds like things got out of hand, as expected unfortunately. I can never figure out how breaking into a Foot Locker and stealing shoes is protesting what you consider lack of justice.

    Except the majority in these situations don't riot because of some grave injustice. They riot to engage in thug behavior.

    Actually the article that was linked even said a number of the rioters were professional rioters (maybe not the words of the article) and I recall reading somewhere that the people who tend to resort to violence first during any protest are the same ones who get arrested for causing violence during normal times... the protesting is just an excuse for them.
