    Good news is this:

I was not denied my reward. Here's a direct quote from Teen Mom:

"there were a number of reasons President Obama won in 2008, but the primary reason was that the economy was starting to falter and the majority of voters thought Obama could do a better job than my mom and John McCain. It turns out, two years later, the majority of voters were wrong, but we can talk about that another time."

Anyone else think that McCain/Palin would have done a better job with the economy?

source of the quote here: <a href="http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/12/06/bristol-palin-margaret-cho-dancing-with-the-stars/" target="_blank">http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/12...e-stars/</a>

The President DID win handily as a result of the crash (falter? er, more than that Bristol)...whether he'd have won if things crashed later (or even earlier) is a subject for debate, but it seems to me things would've been a good bit closer in any case.

As for "the majority of voters were wrong" assumes a lot, but doesn't make her stupid, per se.

Maybe things *would've* been better with McCain as President. We'll never know. But certainly the majority of voters, 2 years later, were extremely pissed off at the job that President Obama and his Democratic Congress have done, for whatever reason (I'm not saying I agree with said voters, I'm just pointing out the fact that they ripped the President a new one).

I don't really see anything stupid about her comments in this case Anne. Sorry. *shrugs*

DADT would've been off the table, McCain and his veto pen at the ready. But then again, it still IS off the table 2 years later so how does it matter.

Health Care wouldn't have happened. That's a big one.

Other than that, though I think such conjecture deserves its' own thread, I'd say pretty much things wouldn't have been all that different if we'd had McCain as President rather than President Obama.

And I think the Republicans would've swept into office just as easily, as the sentiment has ALWAYS been more anti-Congress than anti-White House of late (McCain could've spent a LOT of time bitching about how Congress was getting nothing done, offering up extremist proposals, etc...and he'd have actually BEEN a leader of the teabaggers which would've made them even stronger if he played his cards right).

I was just thinking last night how unhappy I am with Obama but I definitely believe he is still massively better than what the alternative was. I still find the thought of a McCain/Palin Presidency quite terrifying.

And, as for Kathy Griffin calling her fat, I'm not sure someone who has been under the knife as often as Griffin has should have any right to comment on someone else's look. If Palin and Griffin are standing naked in my bedroom then Griffin is the one who will be shown the door.

So as much as you'd like to portray this as the "angry left" filled with hate, it's just two sides of the same polarized coin.

I don't have anger or hatred for any of them. I can't get angry at people I don't know anymore than I can get angry at anyone in LP for saying stupid things about me. I just don't get that riled up.

I suppose it is the "in" thing to be angry, loud, boisterous, etc. But, I've never really been "in".
