A university dean is against this. He says putting guns in schools is a terrible idea and training teachers to take over an officer's job is dangerous.

Some schools are now teaching students to fight back if there school is attacked by a fellow student or an outsider.

    What do you think?

Want to end air hijacking problems? Stop all this searching at security checkpoints at the airport, and instead issue each passenger a gun.

Trouble with people on the road? Issue a firearm with each driver's license. That'll put a quick stop to road rage.

Don't like how your fries turned out at the local fast food place? Point a gun at the guy at the cash register, and you'll see customer service improve rapidly.

The more guns we have, the better off we'll all be.

I think the potential is greater that someone would accidentally be hurt as a result of teachers having guns. It just seems like a really bad idea to me.

I was willing to listen to allowing pilots to carry, especially since many are ex military personnel and are properly trained and behind a locked door.

A local teacher carrying a gun where my child is, no thanks

But what about silent alarms in the classroom? What about pepper spray?

Ok, some people will say, "What about the kids who don't have weapons on them and set off the alarms?" Simple answer.

Any vending machines or other monitary interaction, Use Smart cards...Won't set off those detectors. If they're carrying keys, store 'em in a locker.

Anyway, it'll be a sad little day when going to school will be like going to an airport. Kids arriving to long lines to go through security...
