Looking at things from a "rich Republican" capitalist point of view that Rush Limbaugh often gleefully promotes, the stock market is up 73% in the just over 3 years since Obama took office. That's quite an incredible gain by any historical standard. Compare that with the market returns during W's 8 years in office: a 40% decline. So yes, it is a bit of an odd question for the GOP to ask: "Are you better now than you were when Obama took office?" At least for the investor class (which presumably makes up a good portion of the GOP voting block), the answer is a resounding "Yes!"
