    Thoughts?

The people are Glenn Beck's rally were probably already doing those things. They are free to do those things. No one is stopping them. It's really a rally about nothing.

That, too, is what I mean by "taking over", though I hadn't quite formulated it when I created the topic.

It is still amazing how many people in this country can be persuaded to join something just because "different must be evil"

What does that mean anyway? Turn to God? Which God and which church? Can some of you religious conservatives explain that to me please?

With the unholy union of ego maniac Beck, bigoted John Hagee, and that imbecile Sarah Palin on stage together last Saturday in Washington it's anyone's guess what the hell Beck is talking about. As a former Catholic turned Mormon, I guess Beck wasn't suggesting that we head to the nearest cathedral, do hail Marys, and confess our sins to the priest. Let’s not even start with the LDS Church's long ugly history with gays and blacks. None of it was very Jesus Christ-like to put it mildly. As for Palin, she seems far more interested in being in the political spotlight than being a role model for Christ. Finally, Hagee, with his fire and brimstone admonitions, just seems to hate everybody.

So surely Beck wasn't suggesting that he and his two buddies are examples of what turning to God looks like, was he?

Politicians change their opinions because said change will win votes, good or bad it's the truth.

The tea partiers are voting and their numbers are growing. They have NO idea what they are rallying around, except they don't like that there socialist, marxist president...at least they are told not to like him, he's a scary muslim.

The true Republicans, Abe Lincoln Republicans, need to reclaim their party. The tea partiers should go elsewhere.

She obviously can't take the heat and only cares about being famous. Can you imagine what would happen if she DID become president??

I'm cool with the first two, generally speaking. I'd like further explanation on your last two points though.

What "individual freedoms" are you talking about?

What constitutes a "conservative" view of the Constitution?

    That's cool with you?

How about my right to blast my music at 150 decibels from my home at any time, day or night?

Is that an "individual freedom" you're okay with if I'm your neighbor?

I won't EVEN touch the idiocy of someone "not wanting health care". That's just beyond stupid.
