I am planning a trip in October of 2007 and I am planning on purchasing Deluxe Annual Passes but I have a few questions.

    1. When should I purchase these passes
on-line? Is there a certain period
of time from when you purchase them
that you must validate them at
    Disneyland? I understand that they
are good for one year. One year
from purchase or one year from
    validation and first use?

    2. Can you access the "Annual
    Passholders" section at
    Disneyland.com by simply purchasing
the pass and having it in your
possession or do you need to have it
    validated?
Can you make reservations at the
Disney resort hotels at the AP
rates before you validate the pass?
Can you buy tickets to the Halloween
event as an AP before validating the
    pass?

Thanks in advance for any information.

    2. You must have a valid processed AP barcode to access the AP area. The same applies to the discounts and pre-purchase tickets for special events. You'll need to show the processed AP (or provide the processed barcode) to purchase Halloween tickets or hotel reservations.

Isn't it just that throughout the year they offer special discounts that you have to call and find out about? Like, just because I feel like going for a weekend next month doesn't mean they'll have an AP special rate, right? Thanks to anyone who has any help at all:)

If the park is super crowded, they'll open up the other AP processing spot near castle where the pin traders hang out. It is always MUCH LESS crowded.

You're right. The hotel rates differ by season and offer. You just have to call to check the available AP rates at the Resort hotels.

Actually, isn't it true that the voucher never in fact expires, but is valid for full payment of an AP for 90 days? That is, if you validate it within 90 days of purchase, you are protected from any price increase in the meantime, but if you wait for more than 90 days, then you have to pay the difference between the purchase price and the then-current price for the AP?

As far as hotel rates, it was my understanding that there were two different discounts: the "AP rate" which has capacity controls and offers a substantial discount, and a 10% AP discount off of regular rates in the event that the AP rate is unavailable. Is that right?
