I am ALWAYS in awe everytime I see pictures of this place and amazed I will be there AND Disneyland Paris for the first time within 5 months. I can't tell you guys how excited I will be to catch these two parks, especially since DCA was a little disapointing, but this is DEFINITELY my year of Disney.

Its funny, everytime I see pictures of the Columbia ship, I always think of Titanic. Knowing how HUGE that movie was in that country (and I guess pretty much every country except North Korea), I can imagine everyone trying to do that famous Jack and Rose pose in front of the ship and that "King of the World" phrase (only in Japanese).

I'm sorry that this is off-topic, but from your name, I'm wondering if you've been to Lotte World in Seoul, and if so, what you think of it.

I was there last year and was amazed at this theme park inside a mall. I thought Sinbad was pretty impressive. I wonder if they had any help from Disney.

However i am concerned about the Simbad attraction. I hope Disney has not ripped off that attraction and is recycling it at TDS.. (Care to pacify my concerns CousinOrville??) I mean, it's bad enough for example that the MiraCosta Hotel is a carbon copy of the Portofino at Universal Orlando, a happy coincidence i hope.

It just seems completely logical to have an "Aladdin" dark ride at TDS.

But then, the idea of a "Little Mermaid-Under the Sea" dark ride also seems like a no-brainer and WHERE IN THE WORLD do you go to experience that????

Can't wait to ride "Genie" on the carrousel!

To answer your question, YES, I have been to Lotte World in Seoul, twice. The last time I been, I was on my way to Japan....to go to TDL. It's funny going there, because you get the impression that they are trying VERY HARD to be Disneyland (they even have their own CASTLE, cutesy cartoon characters roaming around and rediculously overpriced, expensive food, the whole thing :)) For those of you that don't know or never heard of this place, about 60% of it is indoors with the rest being outside. Supposedly, it holds the world's record as being the biggest indoor theme park in the world (at least I THINK it still does). So, its definitely a great place and you're right, the Sinbad ride is amazing!! It was actually the first ride I got on (because there is never a line for this ride. Most of the kids are, suprisingly I'm sure, into the big thrill rides and rollerscoasters there), and I was TRULY surprised. Its a highly detailed and a very long boat ride. It feels exactly like the "Pirates of the Carribean", but with Sinbad. The theming is well done throughout the attraction. As far as I know, Disney had NO involvement with the park whatsoever. So, its definitely a great place to see if you're ever in Seoul for a few days. As for TDLFAN concern about Disney ripping off this attraction, naaah, I highly doubt it. As great as it is, it feels a little dated and the animatronics have NOTHING compared to the animatronics on most Disney attractions. I'm sure TDS will have a ride that will greatly redo what "Pirates" did in terms of technology and story telling when it first came around. So that's it. I will probably will be in Lotte World again this summer and will pay even more attention to that ride as we get closer to the opening of TDS!!

Okay, getting back on topic: TDS WILL ROCK!! Enough said.

BUT, I repeat, an Italian seaside hotel? Not that original.

Also, at the Disney Gallery in Tokyo Disneyland's World Bazaar has been hosting an exhibit for Tokyo DisneySea and the signage used for this ride spells it out as SINDBAD'S SEVEN VOYAGES.

Sure enough, under "The Thousand and One Nights" in Britannica.com, it is Sindbad the Sailor. OLC/Disney Japan retains their reputation for English accuracy.

For the record.. I probably would have gone with Sinbad too..so I fall into the 'bad speller' category :-(

    PS..131 days to go..he he

I guess either works. I always used Sinbad.
