I know it's popular to say the surge worked, but when taken in its totality, this was one of our greatest failures as a nation. We never should have gone, and there's no evidence that Iraqis will be better off in the future. On the contrary, hardliner cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's group gained tremendous ground in the last elections.

    We won what?

Bush was right about the serge and it worked, but what have we won. China and Russia are getting most of the oil contracts after our men and woman died to free those ungrateful rabble. The Islamic world hates the West and no matter how many people we send over there to help them they will always hate us.
