We were worried about my daughter because the last time we flew she had an explosive panic attack on the airplane that lasted almost the entire flight..she surprisingly did fine and actually enjoyed the trip. I know some may be against this but I had her pediatrician prescribe something for anxiety....well, blah blah blah...this part is not interesting..sorry, ok anyway. We get to port canaveral (?) and one thing I have to say is CHAOS. This is one thing that I do think the Disney cruise line needs to work on. We walked in and were a bit confused there was a line that wrapped around the building and not enough cm to help out with the process. Nobody was around to really tell us what we needed to do. Finally someone came over and explained that we only needed one person per family to check in. fine, done...onto the ship!!!! After getting our picture taken, we walk onto the ship with our children and it was awesome. They announced the *Kimrue* family, and everyone clapped...cute, my kids got a kick out of it. So we check out our room which is pretty nice, we had an outside standard stateroom which was perfect for us. First we explored the kids clubs which were not only immaculate but soooooo cute and fun. Then we went out on deck 9..which where all the pools and food places were and stuff. We immediately got something for lunch, tacos and rice and pizza and stuff from the stands and the buffet. Pretty good, not great which concerned me at first. Thank goodness that it was just a fluke because the rest of the trip the food was amazing! The first night we saw golden mickeys which was adorable. The show was really good, they made it like an awards ceremony with mickey, minnie and everyone on the red carpet, cute/silly...very fun. Our first night we (tried) to have dinner at Anamators Palate. To our dismay, we were assigned the later sitting 8pm (with a toddler and preschooler!!!) after requesting several times the earlier seating, still had the late sitting. We ordered our meals but our kids were spent. My daughter fell asleep at the table and my son was crying. We asked them to pack our food so we could bring it up to our room. OUr waitor (who was awesome!!!) had it sent up to our room for us, so we could carry our kids. I have to say, about animators palate..it is very cool, BUT not what I expected. The "change" is very unnoticable. Some may disagree but it's not actually like the pictures are slowly coming into color. You can clearly see the wall behind the black and white screen as simply being swirls of color rather than actually accenting specific pictures with coloring, get it? Like, yeah, there's color, but it's not like oh, look now cindrella's dress is blue, it's like oh, now there's a lit up screen of multicolor which is making it look like cinderella's dress is in color, not specific blue...ok? There are also lights around the restaurant that are lit every so often just to add random color. Cool place, just not as eye popping as I thought it would be. I do have to say there were a few regular tv kind of looking screens that actually did color specific pictures but only a few here and there. The rest of the walls were as I described....I'll have to post more later...
