I told myself my wife has to love the parks as much as I do or it's going to be a short marriage lol. I guess it explains why I'm in my 30's and nowhere close to marriage ;D.

I think he realized how negative he was being and sucked it up and started sort of enjoying himself. I do have proof of a few smiles in the photos. For this year's trip I told him we were going with or without him. My SIL is going too, so if he decided not to go I still had help when my 3 yr old gets too scared for a ride. The kids kept bugging him about coming on our "family trip" so he his going. I reminded him that our kids will be little for such a short time and that we need to let them enjoy the "magic" while we can. In just a few years they will be jaded teens saying things like "Autographs are so lame". I've turned my SIL into a Disney fanatic..my DH is going to be transformed eventually.

It's unnatural, contrived, and, fiscally stupid, especially for a man most of the time, who brings in the $$, while the wife hangs with the kids all day at Starbucks.

My husband is my best friend, my "temper calmer downer", my laughing place when mine is lost and he is the magic in my life...I wouldn't trade being married to him for anything because he is my Disneyland...every day! Can you tell that I love this man!?!??! KCCHIEF, I'm sorry to hear that your trip wasn't very "magical". Maybe as your kids get a bit older, things will change, who knows. Kids can be wonderful cheerleaders! Try to think positive and hey if he doesn't change his mind or attitude, I'll bet you can find any number of people on LP that would love to go with you! I'm game!
