FWIW, I posted the article just because I found it interesting and a bit disconcerting, not because I thought McCain is a Klansman.

Obama is black. I'm pretty sure that Sen. McCain feels the same way I do about the KKK. Sorry if my statement was misleading. I don't think Sen. McCain is a racist. He has a quite liberal record on immigration. Not a common trait among racists. I think the Knights in White Satin are racists and would have a proclivity to support McCain for obvious reasons.

Originally Posted By kennect Yeah they are still around and there has been some news stories with comments from some the higher ups regarding this election....I just wish I could find a link right now to a couple of the articles I have read...It seems for the most part they are rather small time at this moment but that doesn't mean they are any less dangerous...But scarier than the KKK are a few friends that I know that still harbor great hatred for any race that isn't theirs...I just cringe when I hear some of their comments...And what makes it worse is they are socalled good Christians...I can't get over the idea that someone thinks, these days, that they are maybe better than you are...Regardless of who you are...We still have a long way to go....
