I think a lot of the progress we've made economically and socially will be reversed, at least short term. I think his court appointments are likely to be disastrous. So I think we'd survive... but I'd rather do a little better than that.

The financial crisis should have been a wake up call, but instead it was just blame the guy who got elected after it started for not fixing it with a snap of his fingers. So we have more lessons to learn. Supreme court appointments seem to be the thing most to be actually frightened of. Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Roberts + who? But maybe Roberts has learned a thing or two since becoming CJ.

We survived it, but barely. Stop and consider the terrible mess Bush left us in and how close we came to going over the brink. It's entirely possible that a leader can indeed destroy this nation. I'm typically not a boogeyman type of person, but Romney's pompous attitude (his disrespect for the President the other night was shameful) and blatant contempt for the 47% deeply worries me. I'm frightened to think what kind of leader he'll be on the international stage. *shudders*
