Not that I want to HAVE to survive Romney. I think people, particularly the poor, will get hurt. I think there's at least a fairly good chance Romney will listen to the neocons, rattle the sabres a little too hard, and we'll be at war with Iran. I think a lot of the progress we've made economically and socially will be reversed, at least short term. I think his court appointments are likely to be disastrous.

So I think we'd survive... but I'd rather do a little better than that.

Mostly, because I believe it is going to lead to a harder road for a lot of people less fortunate than I am.

The financial crisis should have been a wake up call, but instead it was just blame the guy who got elected after it started for not fixing it with a snap of his fingers.

So we have more lessons to learn.

Supreme court appointments seem to be the thing most to be actually frightened of. Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Roberts + who? But maybe Roberts has learned a thing or two since becoming CJ.

Exactly. There are nuts all over the Internet- stop the freaking presses.

Thinking Obama has been "racially divisive" - it's just irrational. And that's the nicest thing I can say about it.

We survived it, but barely. Stop and consider the terrible mess Bush left us in and how close we came to going over the brink. It's entirely possible that a leader can indeed destroy this nation. I'm typically not a boogeyman type of person, but Romney's pompous attitude (his disrespect for the President the other night was shameful) and blatant contempt for the 47% deeply worries me. I'm frightened to think what kind of leader he'll be on the international stage. *shudders*

On the flip side, I could see corporate America going on a short spending spree just to say they told us so.
Markets will kick up for awhile, and things will look rosy...for awhile.

Hey, that play has already been run when Kennedy was elected. We Catholics were going to take over the country and all orders were coming from the Pope. Look what happened to that dream!

You were apparently born after the 60's weren't you? That is probably the most unsubstantiated comment I have ever seen on the boards. Must be Obama instigated.
