This really struck home while watching The Simpsons Movie, where the government actually moves to kill a city full of people, and are spying on everyone and everything. I've seen this in a couple of other films too (can't place them).

I think this represents a rather low opinion of how people in this country are now viewing the government. Some will say that this is just the reflection of the film makers ideas, but I think it's also rooted in a general perception of a prying, invasive, and useless federal government that is just doing nothing but damaging the lives of the people of this nation without a care or thought. That certainly was the subtext of The Simpsons, and I think that's becoming a more popular belief all the time.

Chuck opens the email ( as he thinks its a birthday message from his excollege buddy ). This is happening while the NSA kills the CIA agent. So the CIA and NSA know where the message was uploaded to. Chuck wakes up 24 hours later not knowing he had a computer data base "dumped" into his brain. But he quickly realizes he knows technical information he isn't suppose to. So the CIA and NSA are out to kill Chuck.

Enough of the conspiracy shows already!

Everytime he gets back into the present day no one will believe him when he says he can travel back in time... his marriage is on the rocks... so he takes his wife's engagement ring ( he was having it cleaned ) placed it in a box and buried it under a brick walkway in their backyard..... then he gets back to the present day and ( with his wife ) digs it up to prove to her that he is telling the truth. Oh and his brother is a San Fansisco cop who doesn't believe him ....... the police officer brother ( along with everyone else ) thinks he's doing drugs. There is one scene when he's driving his car then disappears.. the car goes on ( driverless) through a red light striking two other cars. So he has no control over when this is all happening.
