    I'll be he regrets saying it! It has been pretty much the killer soundbite of the whole campaign (other than "Barack Obama loves to bake cakes with terrorists" of course).

    It was in response to criticism from his own party that he is not conservative enough and doesn't support the President's agenda -- largely stemming from his no vote on the Bush tax plan when it first came up back in 2001.

    Yep, during the GOP primaries. Part of his pander to the far right that he's still doing.

    Of course, this and his "the fundamentals of the economy are strong" are the twin soundbites he must wish he'd never said.

    Exactly. It was killing me last night listing to the McCain camp trying to put a spin on Obama's negative ads, but failing to distinguish between attacks on policy and character. Even if McCain wins, the GOP needs to come to terms with all that is wrong in that party. It's a complete mess.

The tone is certainly negative, but it deals entirely with the issue of healthcare and doesn't have any personal shots at McCain. Compare that to the ad running now questioning Obama's judgment for serving on a school advisory board with Bill Ayers. Completely different sorts of stuff.

    It's really been something. McCain has the nerve to talk about what an OUTRAGEOUS thing was said about him sowing the seeds of hate in this country, it's the WORST thing he has EVER seen in ALL HIS YEARS in politics!

    But saying Obama is "pallin' around with terrorists" is no biggie.
