Regarding this whole protest .. I'd love to ask every single one of them:

"Did you apply for citizenship papers before you decided to storm the streets? DID YOU?"

Because if they didn't - they don't have a leg to stand on!

It would be like the European immigrants 100 years ago, bypassing Ellis Island and say - "screw citizenship! I demand to get what I want without becoming a citizen."

Here is the most important part of the story:

    >>Assistance was requested about 6 p.m. As soon as more officers are on the scene, people who don’t leave the area will be arrested, Carrillo said.

The aggressive crowd members are different from those who marched downtown earlier today, he said.<<

    Notice that?

"THE AGRESSIVE CROWD MEMBERS ARE DIFFERENT FROM THOSE WHO MARCHED DOWNTOWN EARLIER TODAY"

    What does that tell you?

One last thing, there is no means for applying for permanent residence or citizenship, so that argument is moot.

For me, it meant an early day home, but for some people whose cases didn't get finished it means they have to come back another day.

    Show me.

Aside from family sponsorship for close relatives, very highly skilled employment or very rare lottery slots, how does one immigrate to the United States? These three opportunities leaves most of the illegal immigrant population ineligible for entry under any circumstances.

So, if you know something we don't, please enlighten us.

I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for illegals who sneak over here and proceed to suck the welfare system dry, utilize section 8 housing, get free medical care, etc. etc. etc. Maybe of those people didn't live off the fat of the land it wouldn't be so hard for others to do it legally. Physician, heal thyself.

    :I
Of course, the MAJORITY of people doing this are born/bred U.S. citizens, so-- what about THEM?

One of the problems with the immigrant debate is the sterotyping of an entire population of people as leeches.

Sympathy is not a must, but learning the facts of the system and of hopeful Americans is not a bad idea.
