There is NO environmental crisis. It's all BS. To have these leftist Socialist types push this garbage on our children is an outrage. They say they are teaching the kids to take care of the planet, to respect nature, blah, blah, blah. Nope..... they are telling our kids that people are bad, cars are bad, capitalism is bad, prosperity is bad, America is bad, wanting to have a large house is bad. Typical Marxism disguised as compassion for nature. The Green movement is the enemy folks. Wake up and fight them. Oh, also ask them why Obama, Kerry, Pelosi and Gore have private jets and huge mansions that emit more CO2 in a day than we emit in a year. The big lie from the left is when they tell the kids ( and us ) that the air and the water are dirty, we must change our behavior or we will destroy the planet. The Marxist, who tries to call himself / herself " progressive " wants to control your life so bad that they lie about the state of our environment on a daily basis. We have the cleanest air and water on the planet. That is only because we have the wealth to keep the air and water clean. We have the wealth because we are a capitalist society that uses fossil fuels to produce the wealth. Does Obama fly on Air Force One using solar panels or windmills? Nope, he uses OIL. He uses fossil fuels and so does every liberal in this country. Obama, the left, the libs, they want to destroy the capitalist system that makes our clean environment possible in the first place. This is why these people are so ignorant and dangerous. this is why they need to be kept away from our kids. Go outside, is the air dirty? Is the water contaminated? No... it.. is.. not. I was just in Vegas, got up and the air was crystal clear. No pollution to be found. Yet if you listen to a bed wetter on the left, we have the air quality of China because mommy took her SUV to the supermarket and didn't use the right kind of bag for the groceries. Wait, are we supposed to use paper or platic now? The enrivonuts change their minds every few years because they are always guessing in the first place. Let me say this. The environmental movement ( liberals ) has been wrong in their predictions 95% of the time in the last 40 years. Yet these are the people that have infested our schools and are now running the EPA. It truly is scary." http://blog.oregonlive.com/map...e_e.html Beaumandy: "The writer Jeff Mapes, a Democrat, has bought into every piece of liberal claptrap regarding the environment that has ever been put out there. Guys like Mapes are not interested in the mountain of proof that says global warming caused my mans CO2 emissions is a huge scam.... a hoax. Mapes, the liberal Democrat writer for the Oregonian, who will NEVER vote for Dudley, ignores the thousands of scientists who say green energy and man made climate change are for fools. Mapes, thinks he is the informed member of this discussion as he askes Dudley mindless enviromental question after enviromental question. Mapes doesn't see how foolish he looks , as he is one of the only people out there who still think Al Gore had a point...yet Mapes askes the questions in some sort of " gotcha ' format that makes Mapes look even more ignorant and uninformed....it's pretty funny actually. Dudley is against cap and trade.... on that one line I will donate the maximum to him." These are the rantings of a lunatic. Virtually no one in World Events believes in the same garbage than this commenter on OregonLive has posted. Yet, the same poster continues to badger us on the LP discussion boards under different names, firmly believing that most of the posters here are his kindred souls. Which, of course, is far from true. Personally, I'm done with WE. If Doobekah pulled the plug on this particular discussion board tomorrow, I'd be a bit sad for a day or two, but I'd easily get over it. And since this is where the nutjobs like the above poster love to hang out and attack the more progressive posters on LP, closing the WE board makes sense. What does everyone else think? Is it time to pull the plug on World Events and force the sock puppets into less controversial discussion boards on LP, where this kind of language and personal attack won't be tolerated? Or is discussing politics worth putting up with trolls like Beau who hate progressives and Dems so much that their heads would explode if they didn't attack them on a daily basis? My vote: shut it down. What say you?

He's been on a sugar high or something lately, very energetic... but the mods banned his latest SP very quickly this time, and he wasn't really able to derail anything. I think they're on the case. Also, remember the very reason WE was created was to keep politics OUT of the general Disney discussion boards, and by and large that has succeeded. Any time a discussion there threatens to get political, someone can say "take it to WE!" If WE was gone, that would be taken away. The first point is the main one, though. If you're not finding it valuable right now, take a break. But let's not shut it down for everyone, huh? WE's relevance and fun factors have ebbed and flowed over time and will continue to. I certainly think it'll get interesting again as the 2012 campaign(s) get into gear.

Not the silliness and stupid political baiting and ranting, but the obsessiveness. The mods can ban IPs, which suggests he's moving to various coffee shops or places with public wifi or other dynamic IP addresses. The time invested suggests someone with no life. I seriously wonder if he lost his job and his family left him and now he's just got all this free time to devote to this. His personality certainly suggests an inability to hold down a job or maintain stable relationships. I know nothing of laws regarding the Internet, but I wonder if there's any legal action the site owners can take. I know people on here at one point had his personal information - name and address. They make a living off this site, they could certainly argue he's impacting their revenue by driving people away, etc. If there's a case, sue the pants off him (though I suspect, again given the time invested, he has nothing left anyway).

He always came across like one, at least to me. And given that most TFBs come from conservative Republican households, they tend to retain the values of their parents and grandparents, similar to the Social Darwinism that we keep seeing in the sock puppets. We have a few TFBs in our residential complex. They do nothing all day long except drink beer in their patios and grill BBQ (weather permitting) and play video games all night. The units on either side of them have high turnover rates, because of the late night noise of the games. Residents complain, but the management has no intention of kicking out someone whose business manager pays the rent in full and on time every month. I could see the sock puppets falling into this category, trolling the net instead of playing video games.
