HERRIDGE: Well this is an element of the story which has largely gone unreported. One looks at right-wing groups, as you mentioned. And a second is on left-wing groups. Significantly, both were requested by the Bush administration but not finished until President Bush left office.

Herridge’s reporting undermines her network’s own “reporting” over the past 24 hours. Since news of the DHS assessment broke yesterday, Fox anchors and guests have been seizing upon the report as evidence that the administration is trying to intimidate tea party goers or “stifle speech”:<<

    As it should be.

It reflects the reality on the ground perfectly. At this time, left wing extremist groups are few and scattered, and focused on specifics such as animal rights or something like that.

The right wing anti-government sentiment, however, is vast and vocal. Just check out ANY conservative message board, read all about how the country as we know it is in mortal peril, and how armed rebellion might be the only solution.

And no, I'm not talking about people espousing "Conservative Viewpoints", I'm talking about all the people vocally and enthusiastically planning treasonous acts against the government.

<--goes back to conservative forum to finish thread entitled "will the U.S. military actually fire on its own people?".

I have, and aside from the stray nut, who may be a liberal posing as a conservative, I don't see that. Can you direct me to a specific board?

Of course they can. Luckily, you're not the arbitrator of these things.

    lol. Whatever, Doug.

If you seriously think that they are truly fair and balanced, then you are either a fool or simply delusional.

    Nope. Common sense is.

I'm neither a fool or delusional, and I can see that they are more fair and balanced than CNN or MSNBC. That's why they're more popular.

    A fool and delusional then.

    How sad.

Propaganda is propaganda, Doug. All of the above are NOT "fair and balanced", they are all opinionated infotainment at best, attempts to deceive and influence the population at worst.

    Fox VERY much included.

    Duh.

Think about it. The Republicans have been trounced to the point of humiliation, thrown out of power by a large majority, and FOX is still number one.

Because they're "fair and balanced". Bah. Because there are so many Right Wingers out there? Hardly. Not these days.

They're better entertainment, plain and simple.

    Any fool can see that.

That's simply not true. Some is worse than others.
