WOW!!! So, I think about that I was in college back then and I was actually with a few friends and it was my last weekend before I headed back north to university and we were just walking in the promenade. I still remember this woman coming out this bar, crying, telling a friend she just heard the princess was killed. One of my actually asked, 'Which princess?' lol. Yeah, it was a shocked and even though it was a busy night then, I swear, it felt like the world just stopped because everyone was talking about it and huddling around the few TVs in a few of the restaurants, everyone tying to get a glimpse of the news, no one believeing it really happened. We all kept saying, "If it can happen to her...". It was really shocking to us and devasting and we were a couple of Black kids from Compton who cared LITTLE about British royalty lol, but we all knew her. Funny thing was before her death I knew little about her besides the tabloid the stuff and the marriage issues, but I didn't know what she actually DID lol. Later, I grew to admire her. So yeah, 10 years later, amazing!! So, just curious, where were you when it happened and what were people's reaction. Rest in peace Diana.

EVERYONE remembers it, no matter where you live in the world, moreso if you're British, everyone was shocked that happened and YEARS later its still being discussed. Sadly though mainly because all the silly conspiracy theories, (once again LIKE JFK and 9/11 ), but like I said, I DON'T want that to be the focus at all. So, it THAT regard, its pretty impactful I think.

If JFK doesn't get shot on that November day, are we even in Vietnam at the end of the decade? If 9/11 doesn't happen, we're not in Iraq or Afghanistan.

I remember exactly where I was when Kennedy was murdered - I was at home sick ( I was 7 years old)- and watching the TV - while putting together a jigsaw puzzle that had the presidents in a circle around the White House. I had just gotten it and they were marketing lots of items at that time because of Kennedy's popularity. Seriously eerie --

Personally, I was never a big Princess Di fan. She became famous because she was pretty and she married well. Big deal. She also whined incessantly about the rules of the game when it came to being part of the royal family. As far as I'm concerned she should have thought a bit more about that before committing. Oh well, she was young and dumb. What can you say?
