Yup. That's a video of a Fox News commentator talking about the Lincoln- Douglas debates. Yup, that's a picture of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Maybe they figured all their viewers know about Obama is that he's black, so they'd be better off with a picture of a black man instead of a picture of Stephen Douglas.

I personally feel that FOX News is the single most dangerous propaganda media tool since Leni Riefenstahl made "Triumphof the Will" for Adolph Hitler. And I feel they played an important role in "selling" this first ever "pre-emptive" war to the American people.

Edward R. Murrow or Walter Cronkite would never make it at Fox News. Both looked terrible in mini skirts.

    Please elaborate.
You know 80% of FOX News viewers still think Saddam Hussain played a vital role in the execution of the 9/11 attacks. A ligitamate news organization would be embarassed to have that stat.

And here's the best thing, nobody is required to watch any of these channels. Nobody is required to read the Washington Post or the Washington Times. Your local paper rub you the wrong way, cancel your subscription. Don't like what Rush, Hannity, Alan Colmes have to say, turn them off. That's the beauty we can actually choose to get our news however and whenever we want.

And its fine to say, "don't like it, don't watch it". I would say this for just about anything staring David Spade. But when it comes to political policy that effects the lives of millions around the world, I find it inexcusable to say, 'Well, just ignore it'.

Well, that just isn't true, DAR. There have been numerous examples of stilted (towards the right) coverage by them, and their lineup of hosts (O'Reilly, Hannity, Cavuto, those morning show dimwits, etc.) is all conservative. Oh yes, they have Alan Colmes, so they're balanced. Meanwhile, their "news analysis" is from the likes of Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich and so forth.

It doesn't make any sense to say they have no agenda. Just as it doesn't make any sense to say most other news outlets have a more liberal bent. None of the news networks, cable or broadcast, is entirely "fair & balanced."

Sadly, that's probably correct. Somebody at Fox News putting together the piece thought "Stephen Douglas, that's that black abolitionist, right?" And nobody else who saw the piece before airing (or, apparently, while it aired) noticed the mistake either. Which tells you something about the general level of Fox News.

The only other possibility is they wanted to intentionally create in people's subconsciouses the idea that Lincoln opposed this black guy in debates, and since just about everyone reveres Lincoln, by association isn't this Obama guy kind of suspect when he debates Hillary (and/or McCain later on)? I suppose they could be that devious, but I think alexbook is right:
