Canada's left-wing party is the NDP, and they have zero chance of running the country at this point. Harper & the Conservatives may be opposed to Gay Marriage, but they have always maintained that gay couples in Canada will still have civil unions with ALL of the benefits of marriage, regardless of any changes to the current marriage law/definition. A much better party than the bigots down south.
