Despite the contentions of some, this investigation is not over. No one, maybe not even Fitzgerald, knows where it might go or where it will end. As for people insisting the investigation is over, I'd echo Kar2oonMan's answer. Several of our more hard core posters are adamant about it, and go to great lengths ot ridicule the indictment. The best part is when they profess not to understand the obstruction charge, but then go on to make fun of it.

It means Fitzgerald has made a huge mistake by taking Joe Wilson's version of events at face value even though there's evidence aplenty that Wilson's verson is false. From there Fitzgerald fixed in his mind that the Wilsons were wronged, even though the original charge that Plame was a covert agent who had been "outed" was not true, either, since she wasn't covert. Also, since that element wasn't true, the ridiculous Wilson charge that such information was being given out as retaliation falls on its face. Further, there hasn't been one instance where Fitzgerald has exposed any administration source "peddling" the information but rather giving it in answer (honest answer, at that, which was to combat the Wilson lies) to reporters who of course were asking because her husband was out there saying he was exposing the administration as lying!

The more I hear about this, the more I think that Fitzgerald felt that he HAD to indict SOMEBODY after spending all of that time and taxpayer money. It is becoming obvious that Ms. Plame's employment was one of the worst kept "secrets" in Washington... there is absolutely no way to know who knew what, and when. In order for Libby to have lied to Fitzgerald, you would have to prove when these reporters first knew about Plame. AHHHHHHHHH....what a mess.
