I don't know about you, but to me this is just an amazing silver lining and when disaster strikes silver linings are important.

I'm 63 and I think, if necessary, I could cling to a roof for as long as a 20 year old could. Let's update our impressions of a person that is only 60 as being heroic for not dying in the disaster. If you could ask yourself the following question...What if the guy had been 59 years old, would this even be a story? We all get old soon enough...let's not rush it shall we?

I work closely with the Yolo County SPCA (the name of my boss, John Ramming, is held in awe amongst SPCA folk), so if you'd like, I'll talk to the president and find a reputable source. There are just so many fraudulent charities out there that I would be very wary of donating to even seemingly legitimate organization's websites. We just had a donation of $10,000 to our group sent to an illegitimate web address. We're filing suit, but how much funding was ultimately funneled from us will be impossible to ascertain. Let me know, or at the very least, do your homework.
