The particular Cover Girl makeup she's advertising is their "Age Defying" line, targeted specifically towards aging women and their specific needs to minimize lines and wrinkles. Picking Ellen was a smart choice. Middle-aged women, for the most part, like Ellen. Only the right wing conservatives like One Million Moms despise her. And Cover Girl has no worries about catering to that particular demographic, since so many of them are still based in the southern states where the home-based sales of cosmetics like Mary Kay and Avon still command a significant chunk of the business.
