Republican Congressman Complains About the Metro

    Wait a second, why is a Republican congressman advocating for a basic level of transit service for everyone, but does not support a basic level of health care for everyone? I thought these guys hated big government.

    Why didn't they drive? Doesn't he realize that, gasp, tax money pays for these transit systems?

    From his letter:

    "An 80 year old woman and her 60 year old daughter were forced to walk – and eventually pay for a cab – due to overcrowded conditions on the METRO."

    Sounds to me like they pulled themselves up from their bootstraps and didn't wait for big government to give them a ride ;)

    Of course, if Brady really wanted better transit service in America he wouldn't vote against bills that would properly fund mass transit improvements.

    That's like refusing to pay for first class then grouse about the lack of meals in coach.
