Even outside the park, if you eat at the touresty places, you will find the prices to be expensive. If you are adventurous to seek out and find the more "local" places to eat, you can get more reasonable prices. I would say for an adult, average cost for a meal would be $8-$12 dollars. Kid's just slightly less. Like the US Disney parks, there is a wide variety of styles and prices of food, from outdoor vending carts, counter service, buffeterias, to sit down restaurants.
Originally Posted By Mr X What do you plan on eating, in Disney and also around Japan? How picky are your kids? That's a very important question... As Roger already mentioned, you can eat a LOT cheaper if you eat like a "local"...ramen shops are relatively cheap, as are other Japanese style "watering holes" known as "Izakaya". These are GREAT for sampling a wide variety of cheap Japanese dishes...BUT, they are smoky unless you go in before hours (like, 4pm to 6pm perhaps...). Japanese people bring their kids in all the time, but if you get upset by seeing a nearbye person lighting a cigarette near your kids, it could be annoying for you. There are NO "non-smoking" sections. Another cheap and delicious option would be the "beef bowl" places such as Yoshinoya and others. For 5-8 bucks a person you can enjoy a delicous dinner of beef and rice. Also, consider the possibility of springing for something a little more special, either at Shin-Urayasu or in Ikspiari...there are TONS of awsome restaurants there including shabu-shabu (beef and other meats thin sliced and cooked in boiling water), tonkatsu (breaded pork), sushi, yakiniku (Korean style barbeque, italian and german style restaurants, etc, etc, etc...all within a 15 minute trip from your hotel...also, NEAR your hotel (2 minutes on foot) is a new Yakiniku place, and a cool semi-Italian joint called Payaso which is good and open late... So, tell us what you want to eat and what your budget is (both daily, and a possible "splurge" perhaps with only your husband...leaving the 6 year old back in the room in charge if he/she is mature enough...pizza hut, kentucky fried chicken, and other take out stuff are available to your room, but can also be pricy!)?

How much do the Chararcter breakfasts cost? I have read somewhere that two eateries inside the park have character breakfasts and apparently one of the hotels. Is this right? If so, do you book into these prior to arriving or do you try your luck on the day? Once again, thanks to those who have already answered. Jeznbel
