Anyone know why they wee added, and why they are so BIG?

Kim Irvine-Allison headed up the effort. Among the changes: real stained glass, the squirrel downspouts, new clipped and trimmed trees and shrubberies, and a complete new pavement in front. The new one has the brass inlay with the words "When you wish upon a star/ Your dreams come true."

The squirrels and shrubberies were added in an effort to more closely relate the castle to its namesake, Sleeping Beauty. I agree that the squirrel downspouts seem out of scale.

(I have photos of some of this work in progress. When I track them down, I can give a more accurate date.)

    A SHRUBBERY!!!!

Sorry, but this the first time I've seen someone use the word shrubbery.

DlandDug...please don't take offense...none is meant, but truly I haven't seen the word used often either.
