I assume it will be a copy rather than a relocation of the same set of floats, but the October-December timeline makes me wonder I'm a little disappointed to hear that there are only 7 floats and ~80 CMs involved (assuming that's performers and techs), since I had expected a much larger affair. Leemac said on FB that it would include show stops, but that still seems somewhat sparse

I'm a little worried about the number of screens shown (Monsters doors, Mac's eyes) but I'm hopeful that they're limited enough that it will remain a unique experience that can only be found in the park I also have it on good word that this is coming to DL for the 60th next year. There will be some changes to the DL version (including additional princesses and possibly a few extra units TBD), so it will be fun to see how it all plays out. One of the definite changes is the addition of Rapunzel, which seems like it would be a lot of fun if they can make her hair glow like in the movie. When I first saw Tangled (in a preview audience) I immediately thought it would be perfect for a nighttime parade, so it would be a real missed opportunity if they don't do it

From the little we've seen so far, the Cars unit appears to be the weakest and will become dated the fastest, so I'm curious to see how that one plays out. I wouldn't be surprised if DJ ends his show in DCA to be a part of this parade once it starts at DL >>I think the music in your link ruins it Hans. If it was set to Disney music, i don't think it would have the same feel.<< I'm pretty sure that's the music for the parade. The tune used in the first half of it seems to fit nicely with the lyric "Paint the night" repeated (though I'm not sure if it will ever be sung), and the second half is a remix of MSEP's Baroque Hoedown. It has just enough familiarity to be reminiscent of the old parade, while actually bringing something fresh to the parks after so many decades of the same thing I'm also curious to see how/if the magic paintbrush things work. I can easily see them being a relative bust, like the Glow with the Show ears, but that may work better for this format. If each guest has one, I think it would be difficult to know whether yours had any impact on the parade; if you were separated from anybody else who had one, your stuff would be pretty easy to see. It still sounds pretty gimmicky, so I'm curious to see how it plays out in reality

The float designs themselves are a little dull, but it's really cool to see all the different things they can do. The technology here is a huge step up from what we've seen in the past, and it really shows. The Tink and Mickey floats are both especially impressive, with their relative small size and a huge cantilevered arm sticking out in front; I'm amazed that they stay balanced! The show mode wasn't particularly impressive to me, though neither of these videos had a particularly great vantage point for it. Hopefully that will get some serious tweaks (or get dropped) before the parade premieres in HKDL and/or makes it stateside

"The show mode wasn't particularly impressive to me, though neither of these videos had a particularly great vantage point for it." I agree. The vibe I get from the video is Pixar Play Parade with lights; a nice show but not quite the headliner of World of Color, The MSEP, Fantillusion, Disney Dreams, etc. As lovely as it may be, and cheesy EDM aside, something is definitely missing.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>The vibe I get from the video is Pixar Play Parade with lights; a nice show but not quite the headliner...<< That's a really good way of describing it. I'm not sure if it's simply because there are Pixar characters in both, or what, but there's a lot of similarities in the general vibe. And I think it's okay for DL if this isn't a true headliner once it makes it past the 60th hype. With fireworks and Fantasmic! running the same nights as the parade, it would be tough to have 3 must-do's in one park I still don't like that a lot of the parade is based on screens (Monsters and Belle most notably, but also Cars and Mickey to a lesser extent), but I'm hoping that it's better in person. There are enough screens in everyday life that I don't particularly need to see them in parades or on rides And for what it's worth, I like the music. The intro at the beginning ("Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...") is pretty terrible and a couple of the floats are based on films without great music, but I like the main theme
