Seems Iger called the board to meet at the DLR, last time they did that was to approve the 1.2 billion expansion, to pitch further DLR expansion. They met in the private boardroom at GCH where Imagineers gave a presentation of the expansion that just took place and then a financial presentation was given about how it has transformed the resort. then, new projects were presented. Monstropolis for DCA and Star Wars for DL. looks like Tomorrowland would get a Star Wars expansion and the major e-ticket would be the speeder bike attraction but themed to Star Wars instead of Tron.

The Monsters coaster is said to be every bit as immersive as RSR with a few very large show scenes and full animatronics followed by a thrill section. There would also be retail and dining additions.
Im guessing HH restaurant. Stated that the Monstropolis project is moving very quickly now and would like it to open 2016.
Just my opinion here, but this meeting smells more important to me than just pitching a couple of additions to DCA abd DL.
The board actually toured DCA through BVS and Carsland, road RSR and then posed for a picture in front of Cadillac Range. They stated that this was Iger personally pitching for further investment into parks and resorts and wanted to show them the success that the prior investment created. Should be interesting.

It just doesn't pass the smell test

While the door coaster sounded neat a decade ago, I feel like the time to build it is long gone. I'm hoping that these are nothing more than rumors, despite the MiceAge folk's insistence that they will happen. I hope that the lack of news at D23 means that they're getting cold feet with this proposal

I agree. It sounded like it may have been to convince them to invest more in the Studios project(s) in WDW, but I'm not sure. Perhaps they're trying to get a fuller Carsland built, or a completely new concept (heaven forbid) for the park that is full of mismatched cloned attractions

About the Monstropilis and Door Coaster for DCA, it looks like much more than just a rumor now. It has been backed up by more than one person since since being leaked by miceage. put that together with the height check balloons and other clues and it looks VERY likely.
I don't the idea for a Monsters indoor coaster is long gone BY ANY STRETCH. If done well, it will be HUGELY popular.

Let's face it, the current management are into either low price (Laugh Floor) or low risk on their return on investment (Monsters mini-land). They would never do anything original or creative.

But... those height test balloons floating over Stage 17 and MuppetVision a few weeks ago seem to support the Miceage claim that something Monstrous is being planned for that corner of DCA.

If it's not a Door Coaster they are planning, then that rehab of Award Weiners is going to be a real doozy!

The speed bike idea on the Peoplemover track sounds dumb. I'm kind of hoping that they tear most of the land apart and start from scratch. I'm thinking a Sunshine Plaza to Buena Vista Street type of transformation.

Why not put in a Hair Bear Bunch Land? Or a Petticoat Junction Land? Or a Lincoln Logs Land? Could be fun.

There used to be such a thing as "Disney". I miss it.

We wouldn't have Carsland for one, probably no Indiana Jones and never any Pixar. Some people need to get over the importance they put on their own opinions.

Not such a bad idea. When each resort, on both coasts, can have something unique to themselves - That's more incentive to go to BOTH. And not just one or the other - Due to both having one too many cloned attractions.

    >> I'm just constantly thankful that Disney makes decisions like this based on what the general public wants <<

And I'm thankful that the Disney co. (once upon a time) didn't make decisions based on what the general public wanted. The public should be the LAST ones to have the final word on creative decisions. If they did that - imagine what the parks would be. They would look like Six Flags parks, because that's what the public asks for.

If Walt asked what people wanted for Disneyland in 1967, would they have had the foresight to ask for a pirate ride on a boat, in a completely inclosed environment, with robots called Audio Animatronics? NO. The public either does not know what it wants, or ask for what they do know - And that's usually Six Flags type of garbage!

    >> We wouldn't have Carsland for one, probably no Indiana Jones and never any Pixar.<<

That's for sure! It would be something BETTER and O.R.I.G.I.N.A.L - Had they continued on, from what they were doing in the 50s,60s, and 70s.

If people think Disney should take cues from what the public says and wants - that could lead them into all sorts of "uncharted territory" that should be never treaded on!
