Notice how they focused on three MK-only attractions (at the time anyway)? Anyone notice the King of Hearts and Scat Cat & the Alley Cats in the parade? Bob's jokes at the Contemporary were corny, but it was a "good" corny...he would've made a great Jungle Cruise skipper...

Originally Posted By FerretAfros Mickey Mouse Revue closed in the early 80's (I believe it was 82, but it may have been 81) and was shipped off to Tokyo Disneyland. It just closed in TDL over the summer, and I don't think they have officially announced a replacement for it yet. The location in WDW was turned into a 3D theater that originally showed Magic Journeys. It was later converted into the theater where they did the Lion King puppet show, and is now home to Philharmagic.

This is intended to be a grown-up affair. In the Magic Kingdom, the focus is on the park's original attractions, not on its Disneyland clones. But the resorts and recreation activities were shown are than anything, playing up WDW as a multi-day experience. The writing is generally terrible, the choice of celebrities seems a bit random, and the October weather gives a dull, washed out look to the entire resort, which is obviously half completed in places. But the infamous "There's More" singing/dancing segment more than makes up for it. In all, the best Disney park opening special ever.
