    I'm glad that this version of the film is getting some respect! It's one of my favorites and I make sure to watch it at the beginning of summer each year. The Lindsay Lohan version seems to get far more TV airtime, but I think that the original is much more charming

    I also like how humorous the movie is. One of my favorite parts is when the 2 parents start fighting in front of the minister, and Brian Keith asks him if he'd rather go out and look at the garden or something, to which he responds "Oh no, I'm quite enjoying this!"

    I much prefer the first version, though the second is more watchable than any other of Disney's remakes.

    When I got the DVD, I was amazed to see several brief "added" scenes. I never realized that all those times I watched on TV, there were parts cut out!
