How is the food and what is it like inside?

They give you a buzzer so you can check out the pavilion while you wait. We've even ridden the boat ride while waiting for our table. DS loves the volcano and DH loves the giant margaritas.

If you do not get a waterside seat and have a market seat, you may be serenaded by the mariachi band. Either way it's a win win. I enjoyed the food, but it is not a tex mex, it is real mexican cuisine. I recommend the Mole Poblano - chicken baked in chocolate and chilli - it's wonderful!

For the record, I'd rather eat at El Torrito any day... Assuming El Torrito was located in WDW. LOL!)

Again... my experience was 7 years ago though.

Overall I would certainly recommend eating there at least once just to experience the ambiance.

    Used to be GREAT.

Has been dumbed down to the point they went from serving warm, homemade chips with delicious homemade salsas to TOSTITOS out of a bag and their brand of jar salsa that you can buy at WalMart.

    Pathetic.

I have a suggestion - Rick Bayless - outstanding mexican food from someone who lived there for years ( one of Chicago's gem restaurants ) -

he seems to be expanding his ' empire '

Hungry? Best restaurant in U.S. is at 445 N. Clark
    Chicago
