In the world of movie scores, Hans Zimmer isn't really that respected. His score for the first film was mediocre, whereas Silvestri would have had a grand, sweeping score that most likely would interwoven the Yo Ho Yo Ho tune into the music ala Mark Mancina's The Haunted Mansion movie score. Blech I say now that it's too late and we're stuck with Hans Zimmer. He might be a nice guy, which pains me to say, but I've not heard one score from him that deserved an Oscar for Best Score. <This coming from a movie score collector.
