It was really a cute family show. I wish they would bring it back. But then again, society doesn't want to watch good old fashion tv shows like this anymore. Do they?

to answer your other question - it sure doesn;t seem like people want anything decent any longer - especially on network TV --

while they all have their place- sex/ violence/horrid language etc- have even permeated cartoons - American Dad for example -- what a load of crapola that show is......the writers can put out any trash they want and don't have to try and be creative like say Matt groenig -- who pushes the envelope but keeps it fairly clean for 2005.

with an 11 year old at home-- the shows that would be the Beavers/ Andy of Mayberry's etc of our time are on Disney Channel and Nick -- there are some decent ones -- Phil of the Future - Raven etc -- all decent entertainment.

Funny, a lot of the younger kids my daughter knows--watch TVland -- favorites include Green Acres ( that they think is hysterical) - and the Munsters ( as well as Brady Bunch )

what is scary is that I always thought so too, but as I continue to get older -I find myself agreeing with him and his behavior more and more......

As an adult, I don't mind shows that are crude per se, but that sort of humour often takes the place of cleverness or wit. Family Guy is a LOT funnier than the Simpsons right now, but will never have the same sort of lasting appeal and beloved status that the Simpsons holds for me.

That family seemed as close to perfect as I could imagine!

I agree, but I think Ward and June were much more realistic. Father Knows Best presented an idyllic vision of family life that I doubt ever existed.

Robert Young went on and continued his Panglossian view of the world in Marcus Welby, MD. I mean really... was there EVER a family doctor as kind, considerate and caring as Dr. Welby?

    Not that I've found.

But I can't agree about June, always in her petticoats, heels and pearls, and seemingly oblivious to what was going on around her. No one I knew had a mother remotely like her, and I would have been embarassed if she were my mother. Margaret put a scarf on her head once in a while and cleaned, and seemed quite down-to-earth. And either one would have been a great role model, which I couldn't say of Ward and June.
