Never went to Frontier Village either, though as SoCal'ers, that's not a big shock.

We did go to Marineland (RIP), Busch Gardens in Van Nuys (RIP), Movieland Wax Museum (RIP), and probably my favorite little oddity, Buena Park's own Japanese Village and Deer Park.

What I remember most was the really good tiger show they had. I think they only had it towards the end of their run (the place was only open 8 years), because I don't remember it on our first visit(s) and only later on. Probably the best photograph I ever took was on my little instamatic that I happened to time JUST right (which, as a photographer, I rarely do) to catch the tiger exactly in the middle of jumping through the ring of fire.

They also had a dolphin/sea lion show, a Hokkaido bear show, a karate show (pretty cool), and you could even hire a woman to dive down in this pool and retrieve a cultured oyster for you, which they guaranteed would have a pearl.

And, of course, the large deer feeding area, and koi feeding area (bring your quarters for the animal feeding machines).
