I use Nautica Blue... not real sure how I stumbled on it... probably partially because it was cheap! LOL But I like it because it is not in any way overpowering and has a nice light "fresh" smell. I'll have to find something different though because I hear it is going to be discontinued. Guess I was the only person on earth who bought it.

Prior to that I used Cool Water for a while until I tired of smelling like High School guys. Then I used Acqua Di Gio because it was supposedly the best scent available in the history of mankind. Meh... I didn't think it was all that great and certainly not worth the dollars.

So I fell into Nautica Blue... I don't know why I tried it... probably partially for dumb reasons like the pretty blue color of the cologne and the nicely shaped bottle! LOL But I ended up liking it and staying with it. By the way... I rarely buy actual cologne... almost always 'toilet water' which is considerably less strong.

So that’s my story… what is yours?

I certainly don't wear it for me much like she doesn't shop at Victoria Secret for her...if you know what I mean.

My aftershave has been Nautica. Actually my DW buys it for me, so whatever she brings home is what I use.

Recently she got Brut. When I hugged one of our women friends, she lingered and it felt as though she nuzzled my neck. So I've asked DW to keep getting Brut.

So, I'd sort of do an informal survey -- see if any girls responded or said, 'hey you smell nice.'

But, more often than not I got the most positive response when I splashed on a bit of Old Spice.

    No kidding.

I think this is what cologne choice really boils down to.

I remember stuff older than that... "Brut"... "English Leather"... "Lagerfeld". In High School I think most guys pretty much bathed in Brut. Even today if I smell Brut, I think about how great it would be to get to "second base" with my wife real soon!! Back then, Third Base and Home Run were almost too scary to contemplate.

(Trippy, you think Cool Water smells like "high school guys"? Thank you for sharing that insight! That might help solve a big riddle for me!

I stop in at the local watering hole on my way home from work a couple times a week. Once there, I get hit on way more often than I'd expect for a 50-some guy who looks like I do. What's up with that?! Hmmmm... So maybe it's the cologne that makes me smell like a young guy!

I'ma do an experiment. I'ma switch to wearing Halston Z-14. That's what I wore in the 70's. [It worked for me then!] Certainly nobody associates that fragrance with high school boys these days.

If nobody hits on me in the next few weeks, Cool Water is total magic. If my "luck" stays the same, I'll have to accept that I'm just a magnet, however I smell.)
