We arose early and Pat said she was buying breakfast. We ordered room service and she selected a family breakfast for four called “The Atlantic City.” When it arrived we discovered we had enough food to feed a family of eight: scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pastries, bread for toast, a toaster, coffee, and orange juice. At $49 it was an incredible value for the amount of food you got.

After breakfast, Pat determined she wasn’t well enough to head out and was going to stay in the room to rest. I felt bad that she was missing out on so much. Sue, Kathy and I headed to the bus for a short drive to Animal Kingdom. We arrived just before rope drop and got to see the Mickey, Minnie & Pluto show.

Once we could get in we headed directly to Africa for the Kilimanjaro Safaris. This was a wonderful attraction! Early in the morning we saw a whole lot of animals. We were in the last seat in our vehicle so it made it easy to move around for a lot of photos. My favorites: seeing the male lion snoozing on a rock and then the female lion posing regally on a large rock. I snapped a great photo of her.

We then headed over to Asia and rode Kali River Rapids. Kathy really wanted to go on this. This is very similar to Grizzly at DCA and I might be wrong but I think it is much shorter a ride than Grizzly. We got soaked! Really soaked! We headed over to Expedition Everest. I wanted to give this one a try but the wait was over 30 minutes and Kathy chickened out so we passed. Maybe on the next trip.

We then headed over to ride Dinosaur. The vehicle and ride format is similar in format to Indiana Jones at DL. It was a fun premise and story but not very scary. I was taken by surprise, however, at the dinosaur at the end (similar to the ball on Indy) so that made it fun. Kathy loved this one too. (She’s so easy to please!)

Next stop was It’s Tough To Be A Bug. This is a favorite of mine at DCA and I really wanted Sue and Kathy to see it. I didn’t tell them anything about the special effects and got a good chuckle when they were all goosed by the bugs at the end. It’s underneath The Tree of Life, which in itself is an awesome thing to view. You can spend a lot of time looking at The Tree, turn away and then turn back and find things you missed.

We stopped in the large Disney gift shop on the way out of the park and did some shopping and then caught a bus back to The Boardwalk. I think all the excitement, lack of sleep, and three hour time zone change finally hit us. We were exhausted. We took naps. Sue and Pat left in the late afternoon to take a cab to a nearby Catholic Church. When they came back we decided we were just too tired to head over to Epcot, so we ordered a pizza for dinner. We went to bed early.
