Originally Posted By friarthe Oct 1-7 is the official National Day holiday, and make-up days for school are the PRECEDING weekend. This means the days right after might be clogged by mainlanders popping over the border. Personally, I stay home (in the mainland) during that time because hotel prices get jacked up. My bet is that the 14-18th will be relatively quiet, since kids will all be back in school and dads will be back at work.
