Three hours would've been a more appropriate time to spend covering the life of this amazing, wonderful man. It amazes me that over three decades later, the men who worked with Walt still get choked up when they talk about him.

By the way... I noticed a typo in the review. The name is "Buddy Ebsen", not "Buddy Epson."

I really enjoyed the way that Disneyland was placed in the spotlight for a good portion of the program as it truly was Walt's greatest contribution to all of us, IMHO. I also thought the computer animated model of EPCOT was a nice touch.

I was fighting back tears when they did the aerial shot of Disneyland with the voice over of that announcer guy and, of course, at the end when Walt died.

Aside from it being too short, I have only a couple of other complaints. In some parts, I thought the musical accompaniment was too pronounced, drowning out some of the feeble voiced interviewees. A subtle score would have been a big improvement. I also felt some of the edits were a little too abrupt. It's understandable when a commercial break is about to begin, but sometimes certain segments would just sort of stop and jump right into a completely different subject.

Overall, I found the show to greatly increase my respect for the man. He was great.

What a view it had! I too had to fight back tears. When they were talking about his death, and showed all the cartoons crying, I couldn't help but cry along. The ending, with Walt's quote and the train rolling in, was excellent. At that point, I didnt care who else was in the room, I just sat there teary-eyed with my family giving me really weird looks....

With that in mind, I would have rather tried to tell a personal story and really dwell on his private persona almost exclusively and the effect that his innovation had on it than trying to do a timeline of the company and his personal life in 2 hours. In that attempt it felt a little rushed.

It was still the best thing done and I'll get the DVD.

What I would really like to see in a DVD version is much longer interviews with the people who new Walt personally. I bet those full interviews are simply fascinating, and I would love to see them all someday. Also more footage and information about EPCOT and Disneyland.

And for me the show came just in time.
I needed something from my TV that I could really feel good about.

Walt died of complications from lung cancer.

This was a wonderful show about Walt and I do hope that it is made available on DVD or video. It made it very apparent to me how much the public lost when he passed away.
Much thanks to Diane Miller and The Disney family for making this film possible.

I know that there's word of this coming out on DVD later, but after hearing about how wonderful it was, I'd like to see it asap!
