It sounds like the quality of service and cleanliness of the rooms is not very good?? Any thoughts? I have never stayed at this resort and would like some info/opinions on it. I picked it because 1. It is smaller than the others so less walking at the end of a long Disney day 2. It looks charming 3. The pool looks like a lot of fun for my DD age 7 4. There is a boat to DDD.

The store / gift shop is great and the cast members there are wonderful. The boat ride to DTD is very convenient, and there is Disney bus service to almost anywhere you want to go. You don't need a car when you stay here.

The laundry is located right next to the cool dragon pool so you can put your clothes in the washer, take a dip or lie by the pool and read a book, and then go back and switch the clothes to the dryer.

Their eatery is great...a decent variety of snacks, meals and drinks.

Also, if you take a stroll down the path that lines the river, you will end up on the Riverside property and you can fish, or just walk around the beautiful landscape.

    I recommend FQ highly.

I was absolutely thrilled with POR and am staying there next time. (Like it was yesterday, I can remember my peaceful early-morning walks for coffee through the beautiful property.)

Come to think of it, house cleaning might have been slightly under Disney usual HIGH standards, and maybe one CM was not Mrs. Helpful, but not anything that compromised our wonderful stay (and not anything you wouldn't find at every other hotel).

I haven't read any bad POFQ reviews, and people seem to be particularly happy with the recently-remodeled rooms.

Don't forget you most likely won't be IN your room much at all - esp. during daylight hours. And kids DO love the pool.

Esp. fun at POR (if you make it over there) for girls is the hair-wrap station and the surrey bike rentals.

One last thing - I don't know about POFQ rooms, but I read in advance that bathrooms in POR (mansions) have pedistal sinks and no counter space. We took the advice to bring a closet/shoe-hanger thing (with all the pockets) and it worked perfectly!

You really shouldn't second-guess yourself. (Stop reading hotel reviews!) I bet you'll love it!

I think the POFQ will be lovely and my daughter is so excited about the pool. This is my daughter's first trip to WDW (we go to DLR a couple times a year).

It was a very pretty walk and my son (Who was 7 at the time) loved seeing the ducks and lizards. We loved the pool. We were in building 7 so we were not too close to the pool. It was quiet in our room. Boat ride to DTD at night was really neat to see everything light up as you arrive.

For me, the ranking of mods is:
    POFQ
    CSR
    CBR

and wayyyyyyyyyyyy at the bottom is POR.

Our rooms were very clean and nice.
The suggestion of taking a over the door pocket type shoe storage bag is an excellent one as there is only a small ledge above the two pedistal sinks and there is not much room if you have lots of stuff.
Make sure and try and fit in a carriage ride if you have time and can still get a reservation.
    Have a great stay!!

We love the size, theme, boat to DtD & that it is 1st pick-up & drop-off for bus service.

It does have pedestal sinks but there is a shelf that extends across both mirrors just above the sinks. There is ample space to put essentials but really like the hanging shoe bag idea.

The grounds are lovely & the resort is intimate great for getting back to your room after a long day @ the parks. The boat to DtD is a delight.

We really like POR as well & have great experiences there but FQ is 1st in our hearts.

Have a great time. BTW we always tip Mousekeeping on a daily basis as opposed to a lump sum on check-out. We do this wherever we go. We are almost never disappointed with the service this way. Of course you should be able to expect good service regardless but I live in the real world & coming back to clean well appointed room adds to our vacation enjoyment.

I'l like to add the CM's in the gift shop went out of their way to accomdate us in finding boxes so we could ship some things home that we couldn't get into our suitcases.
