It seems like they're shooting for kids and families as the main audience, but it doesn't seem like any of the ads so far hint that it might come anywhere near the original ending. This seems like a silly movie, not the tragedy in the source material. It will be interesting to see how it actually ends, and if that has any effect on its popularity.

Anyway, I haven't really seen much promotion of the fact that Elton John is involved here, and I don't consider it an indicator one way or the other. I see it's done by the same studio that did the second Veggie Tales movie. That I DO consider an indicator. You probably do not want to know what it indicates. I will be going to see it, since I see all the animated features I possibly can, and believe me, I'll be letting you know EXACTLY what I think. My expectations are really low thanks to the trailers, so if it's even mediocre I'll be pleasantly surprised.

If you're really interested and have the time, I gave capsule reviews for (nearly) all the animated features I saw in 2010 here: http://mb.laughingplace.com/Ms...-P-5.asp (starting at post 43). Pre-2010 it's the usual suspects - the classic and neo-classic Disney, Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon, Yellow Submarine, The Snow Queen, Mr. Wonderbird, Kung Fu Panda, the classic Fleischer/Disney/Warner/MGM shorts (except for Tom and Jerry - never could get into them), the original Charlotte's Web as long as I don't have to look at the actual animation ... stuff like that. And thank you THANK YOU for actually conversing, something previous "with the company" LP contributors just could not bring themselves to do. Care to share a bit more about yourself? How did you get this gig, what do you dig about Disney, and the mean question (which I'll certainly understand if you dodge) ... have you REALLY seen Gnomeo and Juliet? (I did hear from one other source that it's better than the ads make it look ... and we've certainly had recent "tangled" experiences with that!)
